  RVV 2017

15 to 19 January 2017
Aussois - France

The workshop "Les Rencontres de Virologie Végétale (RVV) " has been held every two years since 1987. It assembles virtually all scientists in this field from France (PhDs, teachers, technicians, engineers and researchers from private and public organisations) with the aim of providing an overview of recent progress in plant virology (see Pre-schedule). This meeting is a unique opportunity to bring together scientists from different fields in plant virology. Its small size favours direct contacts and discussion which can encourage new collaborations between different laboratories.

This seminar is informative and useful for bringing together the participants insofar as it covers a wide variety of disciplines in vegetable virology.  Equally the meeting is open to a wider range of researchers including, researchers in vegetables and animals, who have made important relevant advances recently.

Because of its frequency. the small number of participants and its congeniality, this meeting is an excellent opportunity for the exchange of ideas between different scientists.  In particular it favours the networking of young researchers with experts in the field, and has been the source of many successful collaborations between diverse scientists (molecular biologists, geneticists, entomologists, epidimiologists....).

The scientific meeting is split into sessions with lectures of 30 to 45 min. given by invited speakers (see the Pre-schedule) and shorter presentations (15 min) by other young scientists. Participants are also encouraged to present their data on posters.

Posters will also be presented by their authors throughout the meeting to allow all participants sufficient time to meet the authors and discuss their research.
Around 160 participants (from Cirad, CNRS, INRA, IRD, Universities, private companies and a few participants from abroad) are expected to attend the meeting.
